ParaKiting (PK)

Parakites are high-speed, maneuverable wings designed for dynamic dune/coastal soaring with unique hand-controlled risers for fast dives and climbs, while traditional paragliders prioritize long-distance glide ratios and hang-time with foot-operated speed-bars and conventional brakes, offering more stability and ascent potential but less agility than parakites' reflex profiles. Think of paragliders as efficient gliders and parakites as high-energy, agile sports wings for close-to-terrain fun, not XC (cross-country gliders).

Learning to Paraglide first

Long Island can offer excellent soaring coastal conditions for both Paragliding and ParaKiting but first things first and it is important to understand that a PK wing is not a PG glider even if in appreance they look similar. Learning the Paragliding basics is the safe way to approach ParaKiting.
Two different specialities to be apprecited within their own context.
Please contact the school for more information if interested in learning more about PK (ParaKiting).
